Football Recap: Grand Street Campus Comes Up Short on the Road Against Petrides

Grand Street Campus kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a blow as they fell 42-24 to Petrides. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to Petrides from their previous meeting back in October of 2021.

A big part of Petrides' win came down to the chemistry between David Lee and his top target Joshua Okwuabueze. Lee threw for 170 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes while Okwuabueze rushed for 164 yards and one score while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Street Campus will welcome Roosevelt on Saturday. The contest will give the Wolves their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Petrides, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
