Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Villa Grove Blue Devils by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond took both sets by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-10.

Summer Melton paced Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's offense, picking up eight kills. Melton got some help from Morgan Casteel and her 12 assists. Casteel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Annabelle Vanausdoll, each putting up two.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's record is now 15-3. As for Villa Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Coming up, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will take on Tri-Valley in a tournament on Saturday. As for Villa Grove, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Argenta-Oreana at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
