Baseball Recap: Jefferson Area Has No Trouble Against Conneaut

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Madison, Jefferson Area was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Conneaut Spartans 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Logan Saksa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Tate Hudson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jefferson Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conneaut only managed seven hits.

Jefferson Area's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Conneaut, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Jefferson Area will face off against Edgewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.71 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Conneaut, they will take on Bristol at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
