Basketball Game Preview: Red Rock Scorpions vs. Madison Highland Prep Heat

The Red Rock Scorpions are taking a road trip to take on the Madison Highland Prep Heat at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Red Rock is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Red Rock was beaten by Scottsdale Christian Academy 83-26. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Eagles are ranked 133rd).

Madison Highland Prep has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 88-79 to Camp Verde on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (63), the Heat still had to take the loss.

Red Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Madison Highland Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Red Rock took a serious blow against Madison Highland Prep in their previous matchup back in January, falling 84-56. Can Red Rock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
