Baseball Recap: Homestead Highlanders vs. Kewaskum Indians

Homestead had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it five. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. If they were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Indians when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Homestead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke LaLonde, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Keaton Lewis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Kewaskum, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Kewaskum's side, Tyler Stray looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liam Stoffel was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Homestead has already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Whitefish Bay on the 28th. As for Kewaskum, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Winnebago Lutheran Academy on the 28th.
