Basketball Recap: Brookstone Find Success

Brookstone was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the George Walton Academy Bulldogs, sneaking past 53-51. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, George Walton Academy had strong showings from Tiedrell Ansley, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points and six rebounds, and Jake Foshee, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Thomas, who posted six points.

Brookstone's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for George Walton Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Brookstone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-51 win against Loganville Christian Academy on the 21st. As for George Walton Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-36 defeat against Brentwood on the 21st.
