Simsbury had won five straight games and Emily Elias did her part to make it six on Friday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Maloney Spartans with plenty of help from Elias, who had 17 digs and five assists. Elias is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

One reason for the win was Simsbury's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-10.

Simsbury's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Maloney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Simsbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Coventry on the 22nd. As for Maloney, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Platt on the 22nd.
