After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Buena Vista, South Lake was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on Edgewater with a sharp 3-0 victory. South Lake hasn't had any issues with Edgewater recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

While South Lake won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.

Emily Caldwell paced South Lake's offense, picking up seven kills. Caldwell were helped by Iris Trowbridge and Makiah Palacio, who contributed four assists each. Elizabeth Ortiz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

South Lake's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Edgewater, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Lake will venture away from home to take on Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewater, they will challenge Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
