Basketball Recap: Cumberland Victorious

Luck came into Monday's game looking for another win against Cumberland, but Melody Taylor wouldn't allow it. The Cumberland Beavers walked away with a 49-40 win over the Luck Cardinals on Monday thanks in part to Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh McLemore, who earned 11 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

Cumberland's record now sits at 4-16. As for Luck, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Coming up, Cumberland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Croix Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Cumberland has lost four straight at home , while St. Croix Falls has lost four on the road. As for Luck, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Grantsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
