Basketball Recap: Russell Robinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Unity Reed over Charles J. Colgan

Unity Reed was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 68-59 to the Charles J. Colgan Sharks. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Sharks from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Unity Reed's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Russell Robinson, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 16 points. Robinson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Peyton Powell was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Unity Reed's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Charles J. Colgan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Unity Reed didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-51 defeat against Lakeland on the 6th. As for Charles J. Colgan, they will head out to challenge Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Sharks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
