Basketball Recap: Longmont Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Terra Brubaker and Kaila Patterson

Longmont and Grand Junction squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Longmont had to settle for second. They fell 54-43 to the Grand Junction Tigers. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Longmont had strong showings from Kaila Patterson, who posted 14 points and four steals, and Terra Brubaker, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Brubaker is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emory Klish, who had eight points and three steals.

Longmont's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Grand Junction, they moved to 9-15 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Longmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grand Junction, they will head out to take on Air Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Air Academy will roll in looking for their 23rd straight victory, something Grand Junction surely won't give up without a fight.
