Masconomet Regional is a perfect 3-0 against Gloucester since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Chieftains will look to defend their home pitch against the Fishermen at 6:00 p.m.

Masconomet Regional is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Massachusetts' top teams: Bishop Feehan, who was ranked first at the time (Masconomet Regional was ranked eighth). The Chieftains took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shamrocks on Saturday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Masconomet Regional couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five contest, Gloucester brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Winthrop 6-3 on Monday. The score was close at halftime, but Gloucester pulled away in the second half with four goals.

Gloucester's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Masconomet Regional, they moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Everything went Masconomet Regional's way against Gloucester when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Masconomet Regional made off with a 5-0 win. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Fishermen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
