Basketball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Takes a Loss

After soaring to 67 points the game before, Lamar Consolidated was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos, falling 80-28. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffalos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-25 back in January.

Edgar Garcia and Ireoluwakanka Amusan certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Garcia posted 16 points, while Amusan put up four points and six rebounds. Amusan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Christian Perryman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Lamar Consolidated dropped their record down to 8-19 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 35.7% in those games and 27.1% outside of them. As for Fort Bend Marshall, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 32-2.

As of now, neither Lamar Consolidated nor Fort Bend Marshall have any future games scheduled.
