Recap: Omaha North Vikings vs. Omaha Central Eagles

The Omaha North Vikings came tearing into Saturday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 56-52 W over Omaha Central. For Omaha North, this counts as revenge for the 59-39 loss Omaha Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Omaha North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mynor Strong, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Strong is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jerri'on Williams, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Despite the defeat, Omaha Central had strong showings from Daleron Thomas, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Devin Holmon, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. DaShawn Prince was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Even though they lost, Omaha Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha North only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Omaha North's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Omaha Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Coincidentally, Omaha North and Omaha Central will both be playing Omaha Westside the next time they take the court. Omaha North will host Omaha Westside at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Omaha Central will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
