Basketball Recap: Diller-Odell's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

If Diller-Odell was feeling good fresh off their 62-30 takedown of Fairbury last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Diller-Odell Griffin lost to the Sacred Heart Irish on the road by a 48-32 margin on Friday. The Griffin's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Diller-Odell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madeline Parde, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave Parde a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Myleigh Weers, who earned ten points.

Diller-Odell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Sacred Heart, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Diller-Odell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-55 win against Tri County on the 13th. As for Sacred Heart, they will be taking part in a tournament against Freeman at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sacred Heart surely won't give up without a fight.
