Basketball Recap: Easton Bourland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dawson Springs over Lyon County

Dawson Springs lost against Lyon County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dawson Springs Panthers received a blow as they fell 87-69 to the Lyon County Lyons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (61), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Dawson Springs lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Easton Bourland, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 19 points and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Blue, who shot 44% from the field en route to 23 points and six assists.

Even though they lost, Dawson Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. This was only their seventh loss (out of 23 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

This is the second loss in a row for Dawson Springs and nudges their season record down to 17-16. As for Lyon County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.

Dawson Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lyon County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-55 loss against Henderson County on the 11th.
