Baseball Game Preview: Richland Rangers vs. Magee Trojans

The Richland Rangers will face off against the Magee Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Richland lost 17-9 to Lawrence County on Friday.

Noah Aldridge was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Shows, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Magee has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against Taylorsville, falling 10-3. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Magee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Floyd, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Richland's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-7. As for Magee, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Richland came out on top in a nail-biter against Magee in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, sneaking past 10-8. Will Richland repeat their success, or does Magee has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
