Basketball Recap: Sayre Comes Up Short

After flying high against Frankfort Christian Academy on Wednesday, Sayre came back down to earth. The Spartans lost to the Lexington Christian Eagles on the road by a 53-34 margin on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lexington Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Sayre didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-43 win against Powell County on the 19th. As for Lexington Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-37 defeat against Lafayette on the 19th.
