Basketball Recap: JW North Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact JW North can now relate to. They fell just short of the Downey Vikings by a score of 44-42 on Wednesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Earl Santos was nothing short of spectacular for Downey: he went 9-for-15 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Santos a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Frank Ibarra, who posted nine points.

JW North's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Downey, they pushed their record up to 19-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

JW North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Downey has already played their next contest (against Quartz Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
