Basketball Game Preview: DeForest Norskies vs. Watertown Goslings

The DeForest Norskies will square off against the Watertown Goslings at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. DeForest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Watertown likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, DeForest was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to Milton. The loss continues a trend for the Norskies in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Watertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 70-51 bruising from Beaver Dam. While losing is never fun, the Goslings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Golden Beavers are ranked 112th).

DeForest's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

DeForest beat Watertown 63-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will DeForest repeat their success, or does Watertown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
