Baseball Recap: Orange Lutheran Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Orange Lutheran couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 8-0 to the Los Alamitos Griffins on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lancers have suffered since April 22nd.

Colt Peterson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Orange Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Los Alamitos, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-2 record this season.

Orange Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Alamitos, they will square off against Santa Margarita at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
