Football Recap: Redlands East Valley Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Redlands East Valley dropped to 13-2 on Saturday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins on the road. They lost to the JSerra Catholic Lions on the road by a 19-0 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Lions are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Redlands East Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charlotte Cox rushed for 85 yards on only eight carries.

As for JSerra Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.4 points on average this season.

JSerra Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Meier, who threw for 86 yards and three touchdowns. Tessa Russell also helped with two scores in total.

Redlands East Valley has already played their next match, a 28-21 defeat against Camarillo on the 13th. As for JSerra Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Torrey Pines on the 13th.
