            Softball Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. Mountain View Bruins        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Westlake, Lone Peak was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They walked away with  a   9-6  win over the Mountain View Bruins. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

 Clara Gourley made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Madisen Barnes, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  RBI (three). Another player making a difference was  Ruby Nelson, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
Lone Peak's record is now 4-9. As for Mountain View, their record now sits at 7-11.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Peak will challenge American Fork at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavemen have averaged an impressive 6.5  runs per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Uintah at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
