Recap: Rockwood Rockets vs. Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings
This season hasn't been kind to the Rockwood Rockets, who are still winless after their 11th match. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shanksville Stonycreek on Monday. Rockwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Shanksville Stonycreek apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Rockwood's loss came despite strong showings from Riley Fazenbaker and Zander Ritenour. Fazenbaker dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ritenour scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Fazenbaker continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Rockwood bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Salisbury Elk Lick the next time they take the court. Rockwood will head out to face Salisbury Elk Lick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Shanksville Stonycreek will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
