Malvern Prep is a perfect 6-0 against Penncrest since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Friars will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Malvern Prep has five straight wins, Penncrest has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Malvern Prep got the win against Devon Prep by a conclusive 9-3. Considering the Friars have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Penncrest came up short against Radnor on Monday and fell 4-1.

Penncrest got a good showing from Connor Finan, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Finan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Penncrest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Punzo, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Penncrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Everything went Malvern Prep's way against Penncrest when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Malvern Prep made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Friars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
