Southern Choctaw won the last time they faced Marengo and things went their way  on Monday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp  9-3 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Gabby Land spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Emerald Dunigan, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Keri McGee, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  runs.
Southern Choctaw has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7-1 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Marengo, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 2-3.
 Southern Choctaw has  already played their next  game (against Sweet Water), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marengo will be paying especially close attention to the Indians'  contest: after the Indians faces off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Marengo again  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
