Recap: Grosse Pointe North Norsemen vs. Dakota Cougars

After a string of four wins, the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dakota. Grosse Pointe North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dakota apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

Dakota's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tambre Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Brooks-Foster, who scored 16 points along with five steals.

Grosse Pointe North's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Dakota, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grosse Pointe North will take on Utica Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Utica Eisenhower is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Dakota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against L'Anse Creuse North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. L'Anse Creuse North will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 444th, while Dakota is ranked 23rd).
