Baseball Recap: Buena Victorious

Buena came out on top against Flowing Wells on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Colts walked away with an 8-4 win over the Caballeros. The victory continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Caballeros: they've now won four in a row.

Austin Cushman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cushman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryson Haymore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Branden Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Buena's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Flowing Wells, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18-1 record this season.
