Recap: Jack Britt Buccaneers vs. Scotland Fighting Scots

Even though the Jack Britt Buccaneers have not done well against the Scotland Fighting Scots recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Jack Britt snuck past Scotland with a 42-36 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Jack Britt has scored all year.

Jack Britt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Lord out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Lord's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayvien Richardson, who scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Several Fighting Scots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Lampley, who scored 15 points. The contest was Lampley's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Dajuan Gibson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Jack Britt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. As for Scotland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jack Britt will be home for the holidays to greet Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Scotland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marlboro County at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Marlboro County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56 points per game.
