Football Game Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Ridge Community Bolts + How To Watch

The Jefferson Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Ridge Community Bolts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Ridge Community likes a good challenge.

Jefferson is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Chamberlain: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Dragons blew the Storm out of the water with a 35-8 final score. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Steele, who threw for 190 yards and three TDs. Steele is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another receiver making a difference was Chauncey Gunn, who picked up 77 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Jefferson proved: they limited Chamberlain to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Milton Harrell for the heroic effort on defense: he. Jefferson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ridge Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Haines City 38-7 on Friday. The game marked the Bolts' most dominant win of the season.

Jefferson better keep an eye on Kenyon Helms. He was instrumental in Ridge Community's win, rushing for 203 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, Helms is now averaging an impressive 122.7 rushing yards per game. Daniel James was in the mix as well, providing Ridge Community with two TDs.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points over those games. As for Ridge Community, their record is now 3-4.
