Basketball Recap: Bellevue Takes a Loss

After flying high against Forestburg last Saturday, Bellevue came back down to earth. The Bellevue Eagles fell just short of the Saint Jo Panthers by a score of 57-55 on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Bellevue still got an impressive performance from Mattie Broussard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance also gave Broussard a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Mary Grace Broussard, who went 7 of 16 en route to 18 points.

Even though they lost, Bellevue was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Saint Jo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

Bellevue has already played their next match, a 55-25 victory against Prairie Valley on the 17th. As for Saint Jo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-28 win against Forestburg on the 17th.
