Baseball Game Preview: Drury Blue Devils vs. Ware Indians

The Drury Blue Devils will challenge the Ware Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Drury will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Drury's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Monument Mountain. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ware beat Quaboag Regional 4-1 on Tuesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brady Guimond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Ware got a big performance out of Jack Gaudreau, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Gaudreau a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kaczuwka, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Drury's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Ware, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Drury has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ware struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
