Volleyball Recap: Corry Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cathedral Prep

With a playoff win on the line, Corry rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cathedral Prep Ramblers with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Beavers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Corry to victory were Sydney Mineo and Brynley Watrous. Mineo had 15 digs and one assist, while Watrous had five digs and one assist. That's the most digs Mineo has posted since back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Cathedral Prep lost, don't look at Mackenzie Moore. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and two assists. Moore has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Corry's win bumped their record up to 40-2-7. As for Cathedral Prep, they moved to 16-11-1 with that loss, which also ended their eight-match winning streak.

Coming up, Corry will face off against Waynesburg Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cathedral Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
