Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Barrington

On Wednesday, Lincoln faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The matchup between the Lincoln Lions and the Barrington Eagles didn't end well, with the Lincoln Lions falling 71-54. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-50 back in January.

Barrington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Rigamonti, who posted 23 points. Colin McDermott was another key player, putting up 24 points.

Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. Barrington's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

Lincoln has already played their next game, a 56-53 win against Mt. Pleasant on the 18th. As for Barrington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-50 victory against North Providence on the 14th.
