Baseball Recap: Hebron Gets the Win

While Hebron's win against Tri-Township wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Tigers on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Luke Charpentier made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Charpentier was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Charpentier wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Walstra, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave Walstra a new career-high. Carter Riley was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Hebron now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Tri-Township, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Hebron wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-3 defeat against Boone Grove on the 29th. As for Tri-Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Michigan City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
