Football Recap: Pomperaug Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pomperaug played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Sheehan Titans, falling 40-14. The Panthers were down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Pomperaug lost, don't look at Josh Coughlin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Coughlin got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 69 yards.

Sheehan had a senior duo take command as Jake O'Brien rushed for 96 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries and Josh Durant rushed for 157 yards and two scores.

Pomperaug now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Sheehan, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Pomperaug has already played their next game, a 50-33 win against Bethel on the 3rd. As for Sheehan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-13 victory against Amity Regional on the 3rd.
