Soccer Game Preview: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo vs. La Joya

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo hasn't had much luck against La Joya recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the La Joya Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They came up short against Edinburg North, falling 8-0. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Bears it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, La Joya lost 7-2 to Economedes on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Jaguars are ranked 34th).

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for La Joya, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo opened the new year with a less-than-successful 3-1 loss to La Joya. Can Pharr-San Juan-Alamo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
