Basketball Recap: Marietta Comes Up Short

Marietta has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sheridan Generals. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Generals are ranked 80th).

Marietta's loss dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Sheridan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Marietta nor Sheridan have any future games scheduled.
