Preview: Campion Academy Cougars vs. Front Range Baptist Falcons
Campion Academy is 0-3 against Front Range Baptist since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Campion Academy Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Front Range Baptist Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Campion Academy has not done well against Mile High Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Campion Academy strolled past Mile High Academy with points to spare, taking the game 46-28. That 18 points margin sets a new team best for Campion Academy this season.
Meanwhile, Front Range Baptist can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian with a sharp 68-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Front Range Baptist.
Front Range Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mark Sutton led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sutton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Granthan, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Campion Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Front Range Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Campion Academy came up short against Front Range Baptist in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 53-41. Can Campion Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
