Soccer Game Preview: MAST Academy vs. Goleman

The MAST Academy Makos and the Goleman Gators will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Goleman is hoping to do what Downtown Doral couldn't on Friday: put an end to MAST Academy's winning streak, which now stands at three games. MAST Academy never let Downtown Doral onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Given the Makos' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Dolphins are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Goleman won against Southwest on Monday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Everything went Goleman's way against Monsignor Pace as Goleman made off with an 8-0 win. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by exactly eight goals.

MAST Academy pushed their record up to 8-1-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six matchups. As for Goleman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

MAST Academy skirted past Goleman 2-1 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will MAST Academy repeat their success, or does Goleman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
