Pleasant Hill managed to slip by Seymour the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves lost 17-11 to the Indians on Monday. Even if the Wolves couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Pleasant Hill got a big performance out of Abby Coy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Benz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mendon Unity). The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Brooke Hickey was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Hickey was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
Mendon Unity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mendon Unity's record is now 2-13. As for Pleasant Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Everything went Pleasant Hill's way against Mendon Unity when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Pleasant Hill made off with a 10-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
