Basketball Recap: Brighton Comes Up Short

Brighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Northglenn Norsemen at home by a 55-36 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Norsemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-40 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Brighton lost, don't look at Haleyanna Martin. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Martin is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Brynn Davis, who posted nine points and three blocks.

Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Northglenn, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

When Brighton and Northglenn next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Brighton will square off against Erie and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northglenn will try to stop Riverdale Ridge's ten-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
