Softball Recap: Diamond Ranch Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Diamond Ranch challenged Chaffey on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 14-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Audrinna Mora's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Diamond Ranch let Olivia Jauregui and Rayanna Quintanar run wild. Jauregui fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Quintanar went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Jauregui has posted since back in February. Liset Renteria was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Diamond Ranch lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Diamond Ranch, bringing their record up to 11-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chaffey, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-1 record this season.

Diamond Ranch will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chaffey: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
