Basketball Recap: Avella Skates Past Bethlehem Center with Ease

Avella lost to Bethlehem Center back in December of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Avella Eagles claimed a resounding 62-32 victory over the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs. The Eagles pushed the score to 47-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Avella to victory were Bryce Wright and Brayden Fuller. Wright went 6 of 11 en route to 19 points and six rebounds, while Fuller posted 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. Fuller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Brayden Davis also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Bethlehem Center's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Amos, who had five points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jason Zellie, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

Avella moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Bethlehem Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Avella has already played their next match, a 65-59 loss against Cornell on the 31st. As for Bethlehem Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-20 defeat against Chartiers-Houston on the 31st.
