Baseball Recap: Mcpherson Starts Season with Victory Against Valley Center

McPherson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Valley Center Hornets as McPherson made off with a 14-4 win.

Ian Razak was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Bengtson, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

McPherson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Center only posted a batting average of .263.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McPherson beat Valley Center by a score of 11-1 later that day.
