Ponchatoula won the last time they faced Belle Chasse and things went their way on Friday too. Ponchatoula put the hurt on Belle Chasse with a sharp 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Abby Dagro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 17 contests.

In other batting news, Lillian Virga was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Hutchinson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Ponchatoula always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in six consecutive games.

Ponchatoula pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Belle Chasse, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Ponchatoula has already played their next match (against Mobile Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Belle Chasse, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Archbishop Chapelle on the 22nd.
