Batesburg-Leesville extended their home winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Ta'Maj Gilliam. The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers escaped with a win on Thursday against the Saluda Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43 thanks in part to Gilliam, who went 6-for-13 en route to 15 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Jaden Milhouse was another key player, putting up three points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Batesburg-Leesville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. As for Saluda, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Batesburg-Leesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saluda, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-30 loss against Strom Thurmond on the 14th.
