Basketball Recap: Culbertson Comes Up Short

If Culbertson was feeling good fresh off their 63-28 takedown of Lambert/Richey on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Culbertson Cowboys were dealt a 72-24 loss at the hands of the Plentywood Wildcats on Saturday. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

When it comes to explaining why Culbertson lost, don't look at Mark Kirkaldie. Despite the final result, he posted eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Gavin Deen was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

The defeat snapped Culbertson's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-4 record. As for Plentywood, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Culbertson will head out to take on Poplar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plentywood, they will welcome Scobey on Thursday.
