Basketball Recap: Uniontown Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Uniontown waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Albert Gallatin Colonials as they made off with a 74-49 win. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Uniontown had a senior duo take command as Calvin Winfrey went 12 of 15 en route to 30 points and five rebounds and Tori Grooms almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winfrey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kelan Milsom, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Uniontown's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Albert Gallatin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Uniontown will head out to take on Greater Latrobe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uniontown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Greater Latrobe likes a good challenge. Albert Gallatin will take on Penn-Trafford in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
