Baseball Recap: Gaither's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Gaither couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the East Lake Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Gaither got a good showing from Noah Locklear, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Locklear has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eddy Rojo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gaither's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9. As for East Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

While Gaither had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
